About Me

, ,Space 301 is a non-collecting, non-profit gallery space dedicated to presenting and originating high quality exhibitions of the work of living artists. We also aim to cultivate a greater understanding of contemporary art and culture through innovative educational programs related to our changing exhibitions. Space 301 seeks to engage a broad and diverse audience and be a vital regional arts center forming dynamic relationships between artists, their work and the community.The educational mission of Space 301 is to expand interest in and understanding of contemporary art through excellent educational programs aimed at increasingly broad and diverse audiences. Space 301 will provide our area with engaging educational programs that are interwoven with our varied, changing exhibitions. Through tours, symposia, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, performances and community/school outreach programs, the education department will provide the general public with opportunities to directly experience the work and ideas of living artists and to understand the historical, social and cultural context of the art of our time.

Everyone, especially Lower Alabama!Art Educators!!!!!!!!!! we have outreach projects we would like to bring to your school. Our tour and outreach program is dovetailed with our exhibtion schedule to provide cutting edge art educational experiences for your class, troop, or other group. contact Clayton at [email protected] for more info.!!!Docents!!!!!Space 301 is currently recruiting docents to assist the education department. Please call Clayton at 208-5657 to become a part of this exciting program.A docent conducts guided tours of exhibitions, assists with set-up and breakdown of gallery activities and/or assists with the preparation of specialized materials for on-site and off-site educational programs. Docents who choose to conduct tours will be required to attend designated trainings for each exhibition. Scheduling is flexible for docents who are employed or engaged in other activities.
