follow cydboone at http://twitter.comI'm doing this because I am a writer. Nobody knows that yet. Nobody really believes that yet either. I'm a One trick pony. I work with Lights. I'm a wizard when it comes to that, Or at least thats what I'm told by my peers. I'm a technical kind of guy, and that's what I'm good for. The thing is though, I have to write. I can't not do it. I wake up with my keyboard next to me, i slam it down and spin it around until the words make sense. Hopefully when I read it to myself later it does.
Sometimes when I'm writing the world falls away and there is only me, the keyboard or pen and the words. I dissapear. I wonder where my hands have gone and how the words are forming on the page. Everything in my life falls away. There is nothing more than the thoughts pouring from my head like a whistling pot of tea. Then I am shaken by a noise. Usually it's my cat and I read what I've written. I feel as though whatever it is I just did might not be great but it is pure and raw and honest and touches the soul.
If that's true then I might have a chance to make it out of here alive. I honestly don't care if other people like it. I just want them to read it. If it makes them laugh or cry or fall into their chair and weep like a baby Elf before vomiting and cursing my soul. I don't care. Because I have inspired something in someone.
Also, I tend to rant a bit as well and sometimes I think I'm God.
Because I am, but only on Tuesdays between 4:00am and 5:00am. We take shifts. The guy in before me, he always leaves the desk a disaster. If you ever wonder why God doesn't listen to you in the morning and traffic is always bad, it's because I'm cleaning half eaten buffalo wings off a very nice oak desk. Sometimes I thank myself for PineSol and 409.
Also in my spare time I find it entertaining to be a theatrical lighting designer.
