Formed in august of 2003, Scourge was originally formed by Mike Abalos (vocals), Lee Faeldon (drums), Edwin Asuncion (guitars), and Paul Marcelo (bass). Scourge is formerly known as "Progrum". Although were all set on producing songs that could walk on the line of death metal songs, all failed.. Maybe were all dumb ass who dream the impossible.. but hell knows, deep in our rotten minds.. were all into death metal. It was until on may of 2004, when Lovel Ajok (guitars), Christian Cruz (drums) of Redraft and Joel Atienza (bass) of 9th Circle Prophecy join Scourge. It was indeed a ressurection to the band who have been quite for months. With lovel as the most vicious in the band, the group began editing the chords that would bring the best element from each previous songs and combining them with brutal and gore heaviness to create the most devastating death genre they always wanted. A genre which can torture you.. Scourge you to death.. ____________________________________________________________ _______ The year 2005 was indeed a promising to the band. Lots of gig and Metal Scence exposure. But this have come to its end. Christian have to part way from the band for his own good. Its not his personal decision but it’s a must. He had to leave the country as the year end. This simply crippled the band as Christian is one of the main force for the band. He’s simply a blasting machine at the backside of the stage, relentless power and speed of deadly blast that can pierce your eardrum! Every one who seen him play will never forget him. His resistance, speed and technicality on drums made him an icon… and icon ready to crushed those who called their self "Lords of the local Metal Scene". But this never happened, since destiny never gave him the chance to do it.. Now he’s out of the band. This leave to a big question? Who will replace him? ____________________________________________________________ _______ It’s a hard time for the band to move on. You cannot just simply put someone on that vacant slot and continue playing. Its back to zero, literally. Lots of drummer tried to sit on the backside to do the blasting, but they just simply cannot stay on pace with the speed and technicality of the guitar riffs courtesy of their front liner Lovel. A major effect of his musical influence, "the old Severe Torture" specially their first album "Feasting on Blood". ____________________________________________________________ _______ Year 2007, after almost 2 years of silence their perseverance to wait has finally gave way to a new aspiring teen. Yes a teen for his just only 17 when he start playing with the band. But don’t under estimate him, he may be only 17 but blast coming from the backside doesn’t seem to be coming from a teen blasting. He can really provide the sounds you like to keep a technical and brutal song for 3 to 4 minutes. It may not be a perfect killer drum machine for now but he can be for he is very promising and talented one. ____________________________________________________________ _______ Now with their new drummer (Albert) on their lineup, the band is back on stage. For almost 2 years of silence their music is once again heard by those who really appreciate real death metal.
