My name is Patrick Langford and I have been a musician for just about as long as I can remember. You know how you ask kids what they are going to be when they grow up? When I was a kid you always got the same answer, I want to be a professional musician. I was playing in all of the school bands and was definately blessed to have the undying support of my parents. They were at every event, and the older I was getting the more I was doing. Sometimes I look back and wonder how they were able to keep up with everything for me. I love the sound of a saxophone and was imediately drawn to it as a child, as I began to mature I found that my ears were also drawn to the bass line, due to that I picked up the bass as well and have been playing that for about ten years now. I love them both, but I think it is pretty easy for me to say that the saxophone is my true musical voice.
Well that was a very short look into the past, and now it is time to speak of the now and the future. I have been playing with Smooth Touch (a local top 40 cover band) for about three years now, and I have had a great time with them. I really appreciate the oppurtunity to get comfortable on stage. Without that I wouldn't have the oppurtunities that are taking shape now. Things have really taken a swift turn in recent history and that all began when I signed with the jazz group Elements. You should check them out! (go to my friends) I love the music that I now have a chance to perform, and I get to perform with a great group of guys. Gary Stanionis is running the show, and of course my best friend Jason Basoco is playing trumpet right along side me, not to mention the rest of the great cast of musicians that makes up Elements. I couldn't ask for a better situation to be in right now:)
I am starting to really get an itch to write some original material. I never have done that so I can't tell how long it will take. Something tells me this will be a longer process than anything I have tried in music and look forward to this wonderful challenge. Please stay tuned, there is no telling when I might have a fresh original track posted here!
