Greetings! I am an artist specializing in pin-up girls and tattoo designs. I usually work exclusively with pen & ink and coloured pencil mediums for my pin-ups, but I do use other mediums, like watercolours, for some of my fine art.
In addition for my passion for pin-ups, I am also schooled in old-style sign/poster making taught by my wonderful late grandfather Lenny, who was one of the most amazing free form printers I have ever seen.
Why am I on MySpace? Well, to promote my art, of course, but really I want to find some great friends, and maybe reunite with some people from the past. I have found some wonderful people on here! I'm always looking for fellow artists -they don't have to be pin-up artists...just creative-, pin-up models, & anyone who has an interesting & alternative personality.
FRIENDS!!! ANY MODELS WHO WOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO ALLOW ME USE YOUR IMAGE FOR INSPIRATION FOR CREATING SOME ART, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! UPON COMPLETION, YOU'D BE MORE THAN WELCOME TO USE THE IMAGE, AND I WOULD NAME IT AFTER YOU! (Sadly, this isn't a paying request).
Please take a look...some of my friends like KAYTI and SWITCHBLADE BETTIE were kind enough to let me use them as pin-up inspirations.
General Info About Me:
I'm a very happily married American living with my gorgeous British husband of just over two years. We live out in the country in South East England. We used to live in London, but we traded the cop sirens and street fights to sheep and bird noises. We love it here. I think I've successfully transformed my born and bred South London Psychobilly husband Ian to appreciate the tranquility of country living.
I originally come from Northern Minnesota, so naturally I love the weather here. It's like my hometown of Two Harbors, but without the harsh snow. And, of course, I get to indulge and listen to the delicious British accent. (It's my favourite accent.) I get mistaken for being A.)Canadian or B.)Australian, which I find as a compliment. Sadly, I've given up hope that I will ever get an English accent no matter how long I live in Great Britain. I've gotten extensive grooming in proper 'Cockney' slang, South East London speak, & alternate English different from American English...but sadly, I'll always sound foreign over here. (AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, MY FELLOW MINNESOTA-NS----WE REALLY DO SOUND LIKE HOW THEY PORTRAYED US IN THE COHEN BROTHERS' MOVIE "FARGO"!!!!) I lived in Florida for almost 10 years before moving over to the UK...I've been away from the Northland long enough to hear the dialect difference. My father and I argue because his view of the movie "Fargo" is just making fun of people who live in Minnesota.
I asked him: "Are you POSITIVE the film is portraying people from up North improperly?" My father promptly answered: "Oh Yah. You betcha."
(Case closed on THAT topic)
Before anyone asks me WHY in the world would I ever leave gorgeous Florida for gray, dank, rainy England? I have to tell you: Florida is for tourists, college students and cotton-topped retirees ONLY!!!
Florida year round (to me) was like living every day on the surface of the sun. I am not a 'Sun-baby;' I avoid it, so smart move living down in Florida, right? In addition to the extreme heat, you have the added delight of hurricanes, massive lighting storms (Florida is the #1 US state for lighting), fire ants, terrible traffic, and TOURISTS!!!
England is beautiful. Opposite to the famous quote in Guy Richie's movie 'Snatch': "...fish, chips, cup o' tea...bad food, worse weather...Mary F*ckin' Poppins...."
We are privy to beautiful apple, cherry, & pear orchards. Scrolling green fields with puffs of white balls (sheep) and bright yellow rape, and even a view of the ocean. It's bliss. I admit, since living in Lewisham (South East London), some areas are NOT ideal place you'd really wanna live forever (TRUST me on THAT fact). But what place isn't like that?
