Jonathan Rhys Meyers

I was born Jonathan Michael Francis O'Keeffe. I changed my name when I began acting, Meyers is mymother's maiden name. Shortly after I was born my family moved to County Cork, Ireland, where I still reside. Ihad a turbulent childhood. After my father left the family when I was only three years old, my mother raised myself and my three younger brothers on her own. At the age of 16 I was permanently expelled from school, but I was discovered by casting agents shortly after at a Cork pool hall and began a career in acting.
