BIO
Dropping mixtape after mixtape off his cassette deck for his friends around the way in Meriden, Connecticut since 1994, DJ BRI-G officially made his mind up to pursue the path of the DJ while attending Jacksonville University in 1997. It was at the schools radio station (WFIN) that he was exposed to turntables for the first time, and BRI-G realized that this is what he wanted to do with his life.
While working at WFIN, BRI-G quickly moved up the ranks. Starting out as the Hip Hop Music Director and making his first contacts with labels, he eventually worked his way up to becoming the stations Program Director by his senior year.
BRI-G started working the Jacksonville club scene in 1998, spinning at various venues. With a newly found mentor, DJ Big Poppa, BRI-G was quickly performing in front of packed houses. From 1998 2003, DJ BRI-G and DJ Big Poppa had the College Night and Teen Night scene in Jacksonville, FL on lock. All the while, Bri-G was continuing to drop his mixtapes including BRI-G is Tony Soprano, SGB 4 Life, Dreams on Wax Vols. 1 & 2, and The Arrival. Although content with the laid back vibe in Jacksonville, BRI-G had a desire to return home to the northeast and pursue his dream further on the biggest stage in the world, New York City.
BRI-G came to New York in February of 2004 and quickly found a career in the music industry as an independent record promoter at RPM Marketing & Promotions, as well as helping to organize the largest Hip Hop conference in the world, The Power Summit. Through his contacts at RPM/The Power Summit, BRI-G has been able to do his best DJ work to date. His mixtapes include No More Gag Orders vols. 1, 2, & 3, hosted by Guru, Capone, and The Wu Tang Clan respectively.
After recently teaming up with fellow New York mixers DJ Raize & Kineticz to form The UNbassadors, the trio has combined their industry savy and music knowledge to produce a wide variety of mixtapes from hip hop exclusives to reggae classics and everything in between. Together, the trio looks to heavily impact all aspects of the DJ world.
