With the beauty of a model, moves of a dancer, an ear for music, and a personality that captures hearts, Mia Guzman was built to be a performer. In the beginning it was the music that gave her energy. Now it’s her control over the music that helps create the energy she passes along to her audience.Mia’s first move from the crowd to behind the tables was initiated by DJ XTC (Kube 93 FM Seattle). He noticed her as one of the regulars in the clubs he would spin at and they soon became the type of close friends that shared all their free time talking about Hip Hop, music and dj-ing. He took the time to teach her the basic skills of crowd rocking: mixing & blending, song selection and dj personality. As luck would have it her beauty took the limelight and she soon found herself modeling in Los Angeles.In Los Angeles everything moved quickly. Her modeling career got a quick jumpstart through her appearances magazines. That produced a popularity that got her a contract for a national import car show circuit. She was introduced to Dj Vice (Power 106 FM/ Skam Artist DJ) and appeared in his promo video. She was starting to get the itch for the turntables again. Soon after that Mia found herself on set with the Black Eyed Peas for the “Don’t Phunk With My Heart” video. She met DJ Rocky Rock (2005 DMC World, Apl de AP's DJ) on the set. They started talking about dj-ing and she was hooked for good this time. After the first MTV Wild'n Out ended she bought her first set of Technics and it became her obsession.Mia debuted herself through a 1 hour set at a local club. She was a complete success and quickly became the talk of the evening. She’s expanded her selections to tap into the crowds love for 80s, rock, reggae, reggaeton, R&B, hip hop, dance and house. Most recently she wrapped up a season of MTVs Celebrity Rap Superstar... Although we see her these days in numerous performances and appearances, the fun-loving Mia remains to be the endearing one: a good friend, a hard-worker, a God-fearing soul. The values ingrained in her as a child were so deeply-rooted that she takes them earnestly. No matter how much she loves her craft…no commercial appearances, no music video performances, no print ads, no DJ stunts, no beat boxing, no breaking, and no amount of fame can alter Mia and her beliefs. She constantly keeps on “being herself”. It keeps her fans immensely amazed, and most importantly, her roots exceedingly proud! !
