a Chicago-based, online music and entertainment magazine.

We've got the coverage of the indie and mainstream scenes that you're looking for,
minus the elitism of other outlets.

My Interests

What does HEAVEmedia like?

Well, we like music, we like Chicagoland, we like honesty, and we like you (really, we do). Every week, HEAVEmedia features the music, media, and pop culture happenings that are worth talking about. We’re not above you, we’re with you, and we want you to feel a part of the hometown push for a meaningful place of discussion, debate, and good coverage.

Here’s what you’ll find on the site:

Interviews, reviews, previews and upcoming releases - simple enough, right?

Audio and video - our articles come packaged, because words are rarely enough.

Ups and Downs - a weekly look at the highs and lows of the industry at large.

And Now You Have - enhancing your “have you heard of this band?” knowledge.

Disappearing Funds - what music/movies/other great stuff will (or should) your money go to this week?

Missed out Music - while albums sometimes get lost in the shuffle, we remind you that good music never goes away.

Windy City Watch - featuring bands of our sweet home, Chicago.

Commercially Aware - we name the songs and bands you hear on your TV set during those commercial breaks.

Across The Pond - jumping from lily pad to lily pad for UK indie news that matters.

Neverending Internet - you can't keep track of every music website out there, so let us provide a roadmap! While we hope HEAVEmedia is your favorite, we do believe in sharing.

Takin' You Back - hop in our time machine and smile at some classics.

Illustrated Indie - indie music loves indie comics, and vice versa.

A Cause for Attention - whether charity, platform, or the greater good, here’s music news that doesn’t highlight the messenger, just the message.

Record Numbers - people do still buy CDs, so we give you the weekly numbers.

Your Listening Pleasure - a small taste of new music, real tracks included.

Major Motion Audio - the trailer makes that new movie look great; we’re here to tell you about the soundtrack.

Head to Head - HEAVE staff debates. Something. Anything, really.

Upchucked - pop culture events at their most random.

Greg’s List - we think it’s funny to let Greg have his space, and you probably will too.

The Week That Was - a little wrap-up for Friday’s water cooler chats.

Chicago Shuffle - teams hit the street and ask people (who don’t run in terror) their thoughts on music played for them.

HEAVEahead - a Chicagoland music calendar, to open your ears to new acts, and catch the shows you’re expected to know about.

The Daily HEAVE - a blog by HEAVEmedia folk, where we rant, and you yell back.

And since you've already found us on myspace, why not check us out on facebook as well? Become an official HeaveMedia facebook fan .

and a friend of Reed Heave.

I'd like to meet:

People as passionate as we are. We're here to discuss, debate, interview, review and immerse ourselves that much deeper into the art and artists that we love, hate and love to hate.
