Hi, this myspace page is dedicated to Emil Mijares, one of the Philippines' premier jazz pianists, vibraphonists, composers and arrangers who has gone on to be with the Lord at the age of 72 on October 15, 2007 in Buena Park, CA, USA. His career spanned two nations and over 50 years. Emil was active musically until he was taken ill on Sept. 5, 2007. He has been called the Father of Philippine Jazz Piano and has mentored countless filipino musicians and singers. This webpage now serves as a memorial to this great son of the Philippines.
