About Me

I can't remember when I started singing but my dad tells me I showed myself interested even before I started talking. When I was fifteen I started taking piano lessons 'cause I wanted to write songs but because of the circumstances (or the wrong teacher), the piano became my first musical frustration. But like I said, I had been singing all my life and still I was terrified of the idea of somebody hearing me sing, until one day I went against myself and started taking singing lessons when I was 18 with a great musician and producer Cristian (Tian) Garcia. I took a few classes but that was more than enough to assure me that I had found what I wanted to dedicate my life to. Shortly after that, I went on an 8-month trip to Quebec and couldn't continue with music. When I came back to Guatemala in 2003 I had decided what I wanted to study in the University:music. I started studying in 2004 at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala to become a music teacher. I took piano lessons with pianist Zoila Luz Garcia Salas and participated in a choir directed by her. Meanwhile, I started taking the artistic part a little bit more seriously and became part of 2 bands; the first one, a progressive rock band called Sapiens with great and experienced musicians such as Fernando Scheel, Fernando Martin and Manuel; the second one, a project of the talented guitar player Carlos Cruz, called Tempo Rubato. Both of these experiences have been amazingly unbelievable and have taught me a lot. I have also been in live presentations with other bands such as Nova Epica and Limite Urbano. Now, I continue with Sapiens and Tempo Rubato, I am taking singing lessons with mezzosoprano Ana Rosa Orozco and working on my own project with Tian, which has been an excellent and, personally, the most important musical experience for me. Let the music take me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
