I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

The year was 1977. My childhood friend, Scott calls me up and says I have to come over to his house and hear the new Kiss album. Now, mind you I was into normal kid things then, like watching cartoons and playing outside all day long. Up to this point I was oblivious to Kiss. So my reaction to my friends demand was "Kiss? Who's Kiss?" So, I get the ok from my mom to go over there. Scott hands me the Love Gun album. I was blown away. Four guys who looked liked super heroes with the cool make up and costumes. Being so young I wasn't sure what to think about the women on the front. I then looked at the back cover and read such titles as I Stole Your Love, Love Gun, Got Love For Sale, Christine Sixteen, Shock Me and Plaster Caster. I had no idea what these titles refered to. All I know is that when the first song on the first side started with I Stole Your Love, that was it. I got goosebumps. I started to scream and yell. I jumped around. This was the greatest thing my young seven year old ears had ever heard. I kept turning the music louder but my friend kept turning it back down because he didn't want to make his mom mad. I didn't care. The loud in your face guitars and drum sound had me from the first bombastic note. Thirty years later I'm still hooked. I'm the drummer for my Des Moines based hardrock band MINDASYLUM. Click on the link below to check us out. I have my own site to "JOEL THE DRUM DUDE". If we are even one millionth of a percential as succsesful as KISS we will be doing good.
