Influences:Well,where should i begin??
There are just so many things to say!!!
As I was growing up, my mother would mainly play music from such greats like ELVIS,BEATTLES,BONNY M and TINA TURNA(WHO I HAD A CHILDHOOD CRUSH ON)
lol
during highschool i learnt to play guitar(self taught)and jammed alot of SLAYER,CARCASS,MORBID ANGEL,NAPALM DEATH,alot of bands that were on the EARACHE label roster,
After highschool and whilst doing a course in ART and DESIGHN at a local tafe I started hooked up with a mad polish drummer, even tho we where without a bass player we rehearsed regularly,at that time i was listerning heavily to such bands as ORDER FROM CHAOS,DIECIDE,MORBID ANGEL(GODS)and Legendary norwegian blackmetalist MAYHEM.I was fifteen.
5 to 6 years,2 Demo's and an album later, I was still listerning to the bands aforementioned But,the band i help create fell apart thru musical differences, and the ever mounting khaos that was storming my personall life, things to me seemed, how shall i say "SCREWED"
I was now 24,single living at my cousins house,i had no way to vent my anger and frustration(which was what i used the creation of music for)
Then one day my cousin showed me a lovely little program called FRUITY LOOPS,
I was still listerning heavily to metal still-stuff like SLIPKNOW,NILE,MORBID ANGEL,ANGEL CORPSE,
As far as i knew drum and bass was labelled as "DOOF DOOF"and the only drum and bass tracks i had heard was this tune called "ADDICTED TO BASS"
now one day i went to a friends house and he had on APHEX TWIN'S tune "COME TO DADDY"
As soon as i heard this track i went absolutely stupid on FRUITY LOOPS,armed with only one amen loop and minimal knowledge of FRUITYS,
Akip ahead a year or so,i was given a cd copy of DIESEL BOYS "PROJECT HUMAN2" cd,which i must have burnt a hole thru within the first week, iwas glad to hear there was amen madness out there, when on Diesel Boys cd,i heard a lovely tune called "CALIFORNIA CURSE"which was a TECHNICAL ITCH REMIX(LOVE THAT TRACK AND FINALLY SCORED IT ON VINYL!!!"
Not long after that i met a bloke on a building site that had recorded on to tape an hours worth of TRIPLE JJJ's "MIXUP"(mixup is a DJ dance segment)
At lunch time we went and sat in his car and popped the tape into the radio.
..........What i heard was to me the most HEAVIEST,ANGRIEST,NASTIEST bloody most MENTALLIST set i have ever heard.
The Dj was a newcastle lad named PAUL BLACKOUT!!!!!!
From then on i added distortion to everything in my recordings lol
Paul Blackouts set influenced me so much back then, mind you still to this present day it influences me.
Now i am 29,happily engaged life is sweet and i would have none other way,wat you just read are key points in my influences thru my days,i take all music, film, literature, lifestyle and draw influences from everthing, but yeah i still listen to DEATH METAL and I love all types of Drum and Bass, not just the mental stuff!!!
