About Me

As Philadelphia burns, a lone Jim stands on Front Street. Placated and seemingly unperturbed by the line of destruction that is the fire, he slowly pulls an old beaten violin from its worn and aged case. His fingers touch the handle with gentility, like the recognition that only comes in the embrace of 2 lovers, long kept apart and reunited in their elder years. Against the thunderous unceasing rumble of the raging fire before him, he draws the bow and pauses, a momentary expression of fondness and memory to a friend of long standing, as though it would be their last time together. The first vibrations begin to rise and cut through the air as the master draws his bow across the strings. Thus begins the dance of melody, the poetry of haunting notes floating off to the heavens and beyond, announcing to Gods and Mortals alike - we are the world, we are the children.
R. Harris, 2006

“I believe in you and me. I'm like Albert Schweitzer and Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein in that I have a respect for life--in any form. I believe in nature, in the birds, the sea, the sky, in everything I can see or that there is real evidence for. If these things are what you mean by God, then I believe in God.”
