Also, by the direct involvement, people can get to feel the tremendous satisfaction of participating in a brand new, wide open music culture. Dancing Nancies
Music is. Whatever it incites you to do or not do, whatever feelings and meanings you gather, music always is. Dancing Nancies© writes songs with little attention to fitting a formula -- the only requirement is that all of the band's members must be happy with the finished product.The result is an exciting combination of the influences and creativity of the five members. Keyboardist Dharmadi belts out the band's orchestrated tunes. Bassist Dharmawan excels at slapping pop-funk ditties. Vocalist/guitarist Sharom's wide range of influences allows him to write and play multi-genre tunes. Percussionist Djasman has a great ear for music theory from his deep appreciation of some of the greats, and drummer Haikel helps propel the band with his fresh new ideas and solid rhythm foundation.The current lineup formed in June of 1999 after Djasman - a drummer-then was requested to add the exotica to the music on percussion and stayed on -- and forged ahead with a new sound. Immediately that chemistry was there since they have been friends much longer than they had played music. Combined with the writing skills and the new ideas from the band members, this chemistry gave rise to a new brand of melodic powerful pop with a funky edge and some excellent original songs - driving straight into the soul! The influences of the members are pretty diverse and range from classic rock, through pop, reggae, funk, jazz and blues. Their music is neither lyrically nor instrumentally based but rather an even blend of both.Dancing Nancies© attracts an open-minded fun lovin, funky, get-down kinda crowd.
