Keiko graduate at Toho Gauken School in Tokyo.
In 1980 she turned into jazz and learned from the real soul jazz and got her education from legends as Carmen McRae, Sir Roland Hannah, Hank Jones and Mal Waldron.
Keiko Borjeson/McNamara is an international artist. Partly living in Japan, USA and Sweden she is touring all over the world.
She is honered with the title Jazz Music Professor at Shin-yo University in China.
Keiko McNamara was born in Tokyo 1947. Three years old she started her piano lessons an she had her debut in Japanese TV five years old playing Für Elise. The legendary Kazuko Yasukawa – a relative to Keiko – was her teacher through all years. After graduated Bachelors of Arts, Classical piano, at Toho Gauken University, Tokyo. 1973 Keiko was graduated Chamber Music, advanced study at Siena Academica Quigiana, Italy. In 1976 she was graduated at Hurry Field School of Music, Los Angeles, USA and in 1980 she studied at Wayne State Music University.
During her classical period Keiko was performing with Nippon Symphony Orchestra playing Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F and she was also performing a lot of other piano concerts.
About fifteen years ago Keiko turned into jazz. Jazz was a new world for her and a challenge of life. She studied very hard and met many legendary jazz musicians on visits to Tokyo. She even helped Duke Ellington to bring his little cat into Japan.

Living in Detroit area for more than seven years she learned from real soul jazz and got her jazz education from famous American jazz legends as Carmen McRae, Sir Roland Hannah, Hank Jones & Mal Waldron. In 1994 Keiko was honoured with the title Jazz Music Professor at Shin-yo University in China.
Since 1985 Keiko has been performing jazz concerts around the world and she has even played for president Bush in the White House.
In Scandinavia Keiko has played together with he Danes Bo Stief and Alex Riel and also with the Swedes Sture Nordin and Petùr Östlund.
