In handy list form:
-Writing long stories (I can't seem to hack the short story form).
-Going on ill-advised hikes in the Angeles National 'Forest' for which I am not quite physically fit enough. Come with me (or let me come along) anyway. I promise I won't die.
-NOT getting lost on said hikes and/or being mauled/eaten by a mountain lion.
-Daydreaming.
-Watching anime.
-"Bigfooting" (someday maybe).
-Storm Chasing (also a big maybe).
-Spacing out while looking at a fountain or waterfall.
-Shunning umbrellas as the tool of the devil.
-Watching dogs play.
-Building unnecessary things.
I'd like to meet someone who will venture into the wilderness with me and enjoy the vistas, grumble about what human beings are doing to the world, and help fend off any homicidal carnivores that might decide they want to try something bipedal for a change. In safer environs I'd like someone with whom to appreciate the weather (Note: I don't think of sunny and 80 degrees as weather); watch anime, reruns of the X-Files or M*A*S*H; or brainstorm ideas that are just a little too grand. Failing any of that I'd not hesitate to introduce someone to these and other interests, nor would I feel all that insecure about joining in with people with more experience because seeing someone enjoy something for the first time is something I treasure and would gladly give to others when I am the one who is the novice.
-My musical tastes try to be eclectic. In order of orderlessness, names and genres include, Metallica (old stuff), Big Band music, Smashing Pumkins, Evanescence, Toto, Eve 6, Johnny Cash, Damien Rice, Iron Maiden, Pixies, The Police, Yoko Kanno, Garbage, and Cyndi Lauper. In other words, music isn't such a part of my life that I must consume it at every opportunity. If I hear a song I like, I get it, but not usually the album.
