About Me

DJ Steve Poindexter, dj, promoter and producer, and one of the founders of, tracks and House Music in the world. Born and raise in Chicago, Steve was inspired by his brothers Tony and Frank Poindexter. In mid-70's Steve was introduce to Kirk Townsend who ran the parties at Mendel High School Gym with a minimum capacity of 2,500 people. Steve became the youngest member of Bob Samuel And Kan Samuels Foxxplayers Sounds 77.As a Dj Steve and brother Tony team up with other Dj's such as Jesse Sanders, Wayne Williams at Mendel. He also spun with radio disc jockeys such as Herb Kent. He has spun at all the well-known Chicago public and catholic high schools. He also did adult-entertainment night clubs. He has been an experience Dj for the past 30 years While spinning music in the 80's Steve became a promoter and club owner such clubs as; Burning Spear, The Club 69, Chicago State, The Armory, Sauers, The LaMirage, Southshore Country Club, Hyde Park Raquetteball Club, and many Chicago Hotel parties, Powerhouse, Edge of the Looking Glass, Navy Pier, then the Bismark Hotel, Medusa C.O.D's The Riveria, And was the owner of the Pleasure Dome. Steve Poindexter was one of the founders of Gucci Promotions. In the 80s Steve Poindexter produce Djs such as, John Hunt, Pharris Thomas, John And Jc Coleman, Chip Veasley, David Allen, Tony E, Vince Mccoy, Lil Boo, and Twainman Wilson, and his nephew Karem Smith, just to name few. In the 90s Steve spin at parties as well as promoted. such artists as; Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, and also Andre Hatchett at the Pleasure Dome. In 1985 Steve produce Djs such as; the first lady Krissy Henderson, Ron Carroll, Gene Hunt, and Terry Hunter. As a producer Steve Poindexter and Brian Harris became the founders of Chicago Bad Boys. Steve Poindexter and Armando Gallop became business partners and form Muzique Records. Their first release was title Work That Mutha Fucka by Steve Poindexter. In which Armando was owner of Warehouse Records and a member of Chicago Bad Boys. Steve, Brian, and Armando threw many promotional parties, which Steve and Armando form a new sound in tracks. Steve also worked with the help of Mike Dunn and his edits. And Legendary Ron Hardy remix edits. As a producer Steve Poindexter produce and worked with Paul Johnson, Glen Underground, Terrence McDonald, Drew Sky, Ricky Smith, Kareem Smith (nephew), Brian Stewart, Roy Davis Jr., Ellery Cowles, Jamal Moss, Von Woods, Trackmaster Scott, Kevin Mcswing, Jaymo. Steve also own his owned labels such as; Chicago Bad Boys Records and Chicago Underground Records. Steve released music on other labels such as; Gerkin Records, Trax-Saber, Dancemania, DJax, ACV, Hyber. As a dj Steve toured many countries playing at Rave and Techno parties world wide such as; Germany, Belguim, Scotland, Switzerland, England, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Colone. With various artist such as; Miss DJax, Acid Junkies, Roland 909, Westbam, Marosa, and DJ Dick. While touring Steve played in The Love Parade. Playing his Chicago style of tracks for which he is known world wide. Today "Legendary" Steve Poindexter is still headlining parties as a producer, promoter-dj world wide.
