Enjoying the Pacific Northwest with my husband and children. Been here in Washington state off and on since 1991. During the offs I've stayed on Maui, the Big Island, and Oahu. Island fever sets in faster each visit so I'm usually not gone from Washington for very long. I love to travel and spend a lot of time hopping borders to Oregon or Canada or Montana via Idaho. Never can keep still, part of the reason I love living here is it's a lot cheaper and faster to see new things. Loved South Dakota even though I got scared by a rattle snake when I happened to jump on the rock he was sleeping under. Wyoming's absolutely beautiful, watch out for elk. North Dakota...what can I say...remember Kevin Costner in Dances With Wolves...tatonka, tatonka?...well if you ever drive through the state of North Dakota that will become your new mantra...at least until you cross the border. Oh and if you have to go to the restroom on one of the highway stops park right next to the door or you'll be stuck staring out at a herd of buffalo between you and your car for an hour. The redwoods in Northern Cali. has a giant statue of Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox Babe...man the size of Babes balls, holy cow...or more like holy ox!!! You will be inadvertently drawn between his legs to hold them and smile at your camera like every other idiot who's been there before you and will come after. It takes two hands outstretched to hold them, no kidding. Can you tell that was the highlight of that particular trip?
Anyway I'm seeing new places, meeting new people and all in all enjoying life, but getting older makes me more sentimental and I've been missing a lot of old friends and acquaintances. Even old friends can make new memories, right.
