About Me

I have a degree in computer science and work professionally as a computer programmer. I am passionate about all of the sciences, but I am particularly interested in the human mind and the central nervous system and I am contemplating going back to school to study neuroscience. So yeah, I'm pretty nerdy.
For fun these days I like to watch movies, or get outdoors and go hiking or camping. I also want to get out and try new things to add some variety to my life. I don't drink, Im not a party person and I tend to stay away from wild and crazy social adventures. I value the friends I have very much and enjoy being able to spend time relaxing and hanging out when I can.
I'm not into television so don't expect me to know anything about the latest shows. The only things I watch these days are movies and cartoons (strange, I know, but I love em). I play video games from time to time, but it's harder and harder to find games I can sink much time into.
Anyhow, I guess that's enough about me for now.

My Interests

I love movies, books and video games about science fiction, fantasy and anything with a tragic hero/warrior.

I have a love/hate relationship with programming, but for some reason I keep at it. I have worked briefly in the commercial software industry and found it wanting. Mostly because the software we developed was uninteresting and the working conditions were less than ideal. It was nice to find that I was more than capable of holding my own in the real world.

I love science. I love learning about our universe. This includes everything from physics and mathematics to chemistry, biology and engineering. I am particularly interested in the human mind and how it works.

I love hiking and camping. I'd like to get out there more than I do, which isn't that often, really. I'm also trying to get in the habit of exercising regularly, but it's taking some adjustment (I'd like to stay in shape as long as I can).

I'd like to meet:

Gir from Invader Zim
Stitch from Lilo and Stitch
Spiderman
Dilbert
