About Me

I guess I can finally come out the closet and say it...I am a professional writer - or at least working at it. Having recently signed with Media Bitch, I've added a new TV project to my current one and have another in the wings. They're getting my screenplays and stageplays read. I've been trying to do this on my own for the past ten years and all I can say at this point is - I'm glad I have Media Bitch on my team

What else can I say about me...I've done a little bit of everything...I studied music for many years although I haven't picked up my trombone in years...I made my feature film debut in 1981 in the Paramount Picture release STUDENT BODIES...I studied theatre at the University of Houston. This is my friend Jim. He and I were at UH together... And Anessa Ramsey went there with us. Here she is in the feature film THE SIGNAL...Stuart Ostrow (original producer of CHICAGO) was my Musical Theatre professor. Edward Albee was my Playwriting professor...I've worked as a theatre professional in Houston for ten years - stage managing, assistant directing, whatever I could get my hands on. I've worked with the Houston Shakespeare Festival, Theater Under the Stars, Stages Repertory Theater, Main Street Theater, Masquerade Theater- you name it, I've worked there...I've worked with the Chautauqua Conservatory Theatre in Chautauqua, NY and as a stage manager on a Producer's Showcase in NYC...And more about my writing....I've been writing as long as I can remember. I've won a screeplay award from WorldFest and a playwriting award from the Southwest Festival of New Plays. I've had play readings at Chautauqua and at Stages. I had a screenplay optioned in 1989 and a trailer was shot for it, but the director was killed in an accident and the project died with him...Currently, I'm adapting books into screenplays - I'm really good at this, I've found. I've worked on a spec script of Eric Shaw Quinn's SAY UNCLE, but he doesn't even have the rights to his own book (Universal is sitting on it and won't let him have it back...hmm?) I worked with Timothy J. Lambert and Rebecca Cochrane (no relation, besides she has the "e') to adapt their book THE DEAL into a 13 part mini-series. Right now, I'm adapting Eric Arvin's SUBSURDITY and having great time with it.I adapted my own play SPOILED ROTTEN for the big screen and shot a demo of the first 30 minutes - all of which is over on my YouTube Channel. Check it out and let me know what you think...I love movies and musicals and movie musicals. SPRING AWAKENING is one of my absolute favorites... A musical. And it's written by Duncan Sheik. That's the ultimate for me!!!HAIRSRAY is another fave. I've saw the movie twice in the theater, now own the DVD and can't get the CD out of my machine. Love it, love it, love it!But the show that tickles me the most is YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. All my favourite moments from the film now translated to song - nothing's better than this one for me!!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Stephen Sondheim... Stephen King... Clive Barker... Tim Burton... Steven Spielberg... Mel Brooks... Kate Bush... Duncan Sheik... Alistair Appleton, not because of "Cash in the Attic" but more for his Buddhist beliefs and teachings

My Blog

For the STUDENT BODIES Fan Page...

With the discovery of the Facebook Fan Page, I thought I'd revisit another previous blog.  I've added some screen caps from the film.  They're bad but the tape is at least 20 years old.  I'll make new...
