I usually go for the original artist that people sample from today. I buy new stuff sometimes if really like it or if it really catches my ear. I also like to collect old soul cinema movies...

I really like groups that play their own instruments like Mint Condition, Jamiroquai, Tony Toni Tone, Morris Day and the Time, Slave, Heatwave, Average White Band, George Benson, Spyro Gyra, Ohio Players, Bob James, Isley Brothers The Roots, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire, Gap Band, O'Jays, Leon Ware, Jackson 5, pretty much anything Motown.
Ladder 49, Backdraft , old school Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier movies, Pulp Fiction, Coming to America, Cooley High, Car Wash, Bustin Loose, Eddie Murphy Raw, and a whole lot more I cant think of right now
