"From out the dungeons of rap, where fake mc's don't make it back", has emerged one of the most charismatic groups to mix intelligent slang with that raw hip-hop in years. The Smash Brovaz are quickly making a name for themselves through smashing the competition as well as any roadblock on their chosen path to success.
Comprised of MC Killa Crook and MC/Producer Junia T, The Smash Brovaz is a supergroup within a larger collective of talented rappers and producers called 3-5 Playa. First hitting the hip-hop scene as a group in 2004, the individual MC's have been vibing and collaborating with each other since early 2000 through neighbourhood ciphers and house party throwdowns. Originally meeting in battle format, the two wordsmith's immediately recognized in each other a burning desire to innovate and uplift their rhyme styles. It was this love for hip-hop as an artform that made Crook and Junia start to rap together more and more as opposed to just doing the gladiator thing.
Accomplished solo artists in their own right, both Brovaz in the crew have been building up their own careers and fanbases for years before coming together to release their debut team effort. Killa Crook previously released his first project with DJ/Producer Cypha (Crook'N'Cypha) to critical success throughout the local hip-hop community. Junia-T on the other hand has been steadily on the grind rhyming, performing and producing around the mega-city as his own entity and gaining much love and respect in the process.
Combined the two are a formidable pair. Able to unleash a ferocious onslaught of battle lyrics or charismatically weave together stories of everyday life situations with equal skill, the Smash Brovaz are very loudly claiming their dues paid.
Methodically destroying wack rappers, industry norms and stereotypes, the Smash Brovaz are also building. They are building a loyal and dedicated fan base through their strong track record for making great music, and energetic and fun live shows. The Smash Brovaz are really building something very special.
They are building a legacy.
