Along the way he learned to sing classically in Northwest Boychoir and gospel music with his Baptist Church choir in Seattle. He was selected for the Air Force choir but chose to join the navy after graduation instead. During his Navy off-time he performed in local talent contests and formed several bands and played professionally at festivals and events around the world. In order to support his growing passion for acting and performing he took on various jobs including teaching English at Berlitz, modeling, doing commercials and television shows and performing in the rock band Multiculture as lead singer/keyboardist and rhythm guitar player in some of Tokyo's club hotspots. Geoffery sang back -up for Mariah Carey at the Tokyo Dome for 3 sold-out concerts during her 1996 “Butterfly” tour. Geoffery Simmons was adopted as a baby by great parents Charles and G. Mary Simmons, who loved him and nurtured his soul, (Props to God)and although frequently hearing as an adult that he looked like Former NFL Wide receiver, College Hall of Fame and Emmy award-winning Sportscaster, Ahmad Rashad, especially during his east coast visits, he never took the idea seriously. He was genuinely surprised to learn he was in fact his biological son. Geoffery Simmons happily reunited with Ahmad Rashad in 2003 and has since learned that like his father he shares a drive to achieve high standards, while pursuing his acting career.Jodi Rothfield's On Camera Auditioning Workshop-ROCKS!!!!!!Geoffery Simmons Professional ExperienceFILM William Never Married- ‘Marcel’ – written and directed by Christian Palmer, Independent, 2007 • Marcel is the proprietor of a bar where a misunderstanding with a patron leads to an altercation, and eventually, a revealing of his true character.
