RUMOR

The band RUMOR was born in autumn 1992 in Debica. What was initially meant to be only an outlet for the band members' creative energy soon became a more serious activity. The first line up was: Ameba - vocal, Boju - bass, Macius - guitar, Papirus - drums. In May 1994 in "Mewa" Recording Studio (Rzeszów - Poland) the band recorded their first demo entitled "Ryj W Ryj". The demo was released by the band itself and distributed within the independent hardcore/punk scene. At the beginning of 1995 RUMOR temporarily stopped their activity; the reasons were the lack of a rehearsal room and proper gear as well as personal and musical differences among the band members. In May 1996 in "Manek" Recording Studio (Sanok) RUMOR recorded the songs for their next demo: "I Tylko Czasami Szalenstwo Bierze Góre". The material was relesead and distributed by independent label "Pasazer". The recording session for the band's new album "Ignorantio Nocet" took place in July 1998. The music on the album could be described as metal/psycho/punk. The CD was released on Hate Records. The effort the band put into the production of the album resulted in numerous favourable reviews in both zines ("Pasazer", "Wiatry","Garaz") and professional music magazines ("Brum"/12'98/, "Tylko rock"/2'99/,"Machina"/2'99). The band's discography also includes "Zadnych Krasnoludków" promo'97, "Live'R'ból" promo'01 and "To Moja Droga" promo'03. RUMOR's songs also appeared on compilations such as "Pasazer"12 i "Liberation"7. In 2001 the band took part in "Spaartakiada", a contest organized by Spaart Recording Studio in Boguchwala, and was voted one of the best bands. The result of this was "Live'r'ból" promo CD which included 2 tracks. The band also participated in the contest organized by Art Management (Wroclaw), "9-ty Przeglad Kapel z Nagrodami" (03.2002) and entered the finals. In summer 2002 we performed at "Wegorzewo" Rock Festival, "Rockowe Ogródki" (Plock) oraz "Prowincjal Underground Festiwal". In 2003 RUMOR played at Big Star Festival (Lódz), 2004 r. Slot Art Festival (Lubiaz) and also at many other venues. In 2004 New Project Production released the compilation "Rock Atak Rockout" which included a song by RUMOR: "To moja droga". In spring 2005 we recorded our recent album (released on Hate Recordings) entitled "Ciecie" ("the Cut"). The content of the album can be described as passionate music accompanied by passionate lyrics.
The music we create is a blend of our fascinations which range from punk to metal but also include softer and more experimental stuff. We don't try to follow any conventions, neither musical nor ideological.
