About Me

"Aircast isn't as much of simply a music group as it is a statement. Their songs stand as a testaments to the variety and evolution of popular music over the past forty. One part of the band coming from a strong jazz background, the other from a more conventional rock history, added to the freqent use of african bongo drums on their album give their records a collage-like feel. Apart from the sheer talented musicianship that infests the lineup and is characteristic of any good band, the lyrics, much in the dark style of Jim Morrison (who is cited as a primary influence) contrast and complement the bright sounds coming from the band's Gibson ES-335 guitar. Though the thought of another Vermont band often leads people to imagine the bouncy jam-band style of Phish, Aircast manages to create it's own original sound, something that hasn't been done and poularized in the last fifteen years. They remain independent of regional reputations that seem to go together such as "Emo" and "Southern Cal." It is certain, in the opinion of this reporter, that this band will be on headlines within the next year. Though the band and its members are young, they have built quite a strong following local following and are awaiting words on record contracts from several major labels including Columbia and Elektra. They currently are living at home and working in their own recording studio on demo tapes."-Blender WebMag
