Born in Ankara, Naci Ozguc studied music in Ankara, graduating from the State Conservatory piano and composition departments (1987) and the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington (Master of Music Degree in Instrumental and Operatic Conducting, 1990). He studied with Lorin Maazel in Pittsburgh, with Jiri Belohlavek in Zlina and with Ferdinand Leitner in Siena where he was awarded to the ‘Diploma of Merit’ and conducted the Russe Philarmonic Orchestra for a concert in Teatro dei Rinnovati.

In 1988, he became the Musical Director of Indiana University Chamber Opera Company for two successive years. During this time, his conducting included Mozart’s ‘L’Impresario’ and Rossini’s ‘La Cambiale di Matrimonio’.

As conductor of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Company since 1990, Ozguc held the positions of, Assistant to the Chorus Master (1990-92), Chief Coach (1992-93), Assistant to the Music Director (1993-94) and General Music Director (1994-95). During this period he premiered a large operatic and ballet repertoire including the rarely staged operas, Mozart’s ‘Zaide’ and Weill’s ‘The Rise and the fall of the city Mahagonny’. His conducting included also a wide range of symphonic repertoire with the Istanbul, Izmir State Symphony Orchestras and the Presidential Symphony in Ankara.

In 1994, he conducted Tchaikowsky’s ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ and Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ in Ankara State Opera and with these productions he was awarded as the ‘Best Conductor of the Year’ by the ‘Theatre, Opera and Ballet Foundation’.

He was invited to the Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival in Antalya for three successive years between 1994 and 1996 to conduct, Mozart’s ‘Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail’, Tuzun’s ‘The Ears of Midas’, Adam’s ‘Le Corsaire’ and Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’.

In 1998, he recorded live the five piano concertos of Beethoven with Bilkent University Symphony Orchestra featuring the world known pianist Idil Biret. These CD’s have been published in December 1999.

In October 2001, he conducted the World Premiere of the oratorio “NAZIM”, composed and co-performed by Internationally known Pianist/ Composer Fazil Say, with the contribution of Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara, and prepared the CD recordings of the piece. The CD has been published in May 2002.

His World Premieres include, T. Erdener's 'Istanbulname' and 'Mavi Gozlu Dev'. In March 2007, he conducted the World Premiere of 'Mevlana-Simyaci' by S. Tulug Tirpan with Sertab Erener and Ziya Azazi with the contribution of Bursa B. D. Symphony Orchestra in Bursa.

In June 2007, he conducted the opening concert of Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival featuring Mario Frangoulis.
