Show your girl some loooooooove.
Thanks for asking. Funny how everyone wants to make it big, have everybody look at them and say wow, they’re famous. I’m definitely not in it for the fame. I’d prefer everyone not stare at me. Call it bizarre, but my art is pretty close to my heart and I’m most comfortable in the studio with a more relaxed setting. Now I love doing shows. I get caught up in live music, but I’m not in it for stardom. Someone else can have that. I just want to share my words and my music and my experiences because there’s commonality and understanding in those things.
Why the Indie route?
Our music has become so misogynistic (that’s a hatred of women). Much of what I love about black music has been swamped with female objectification. Back in the day, guys used to sing to you and sweep you off your feet. Now I like a party as much as the next girl, and I love rap music. I think we’re just heading in a bad direction.
Also, when music people see a thin, young female – they’ve already got your number. Get her in a tube top, some shorts and put her to music. That’s not me, and I’m not begging a label to sign me, give me a budget and get me naked. Just not so much about that.

My personal favorites include:• Track 10: “No Moreâ€, a song that talks about the breaking point of a one-sided relationship. • Track 1: “I Should Be†this is one of those songs I had fun with, because I would NEVER be able to really say/do that! On My Way is the title for a reason... and well I like all of them, so...
