About Me

..
We are EpiTas from Dallas, Texas. Our sound is inspired by classical rock, alternative, psychedelic and acoustic music. We formed as a quartet consisting of George Miadis, Bill Mantza, Daniel Schmuck and Roy Oteo in the fall of 2007. Since the formation of the band, we have recorded our debut album, cut a new EP and have been playing a steady stream of live shows in the Dallas area. Fans that attend our shows describe our sound as, “Mainstream hard melodic rock with a psychedelic twist.”
We derived our name from an ancient Greek saying coming from the two words "epi tas." When the Spartan warriors went to war, the women would say "I tan i epi tas" which means, "Come back with your shield, or on it.” In other words, come back victorious or dead, because they did not believe in retreating.
When you see an EpiTas show or listen to an EpiTas track, you can expect a different color and texture from each song. Our hard/psychedelic rock sound keeps the audience engaged, while our melodic/acoustic side balances and sweetens the performance.
