About Me

Brown eyes, black soul...
I take photos of bands

My Interests

Gonna walk, before they make me run.

I'd like to meet:

Brett Anderson or Jarvis Cocker. Did I stutter?
I make things

Music:

Gram Parsons is my personal Jesus. Brett Anderson and Jarvis Cocker sit perched on his right hand. Crispin Hunt lurks around his left shoulder, the little devil. F*ck, I love the Longpigs. Can anyone believe that Crispin has a new project called Gramercy? Anybody think it will ever get released? Arcwelder! Jeebus, getting to see them again at the Block Party after SOOO fucking long was great. They are brilliant. Big Black. Quasi. Pegboy. Shit, all the T&G bands that I grew up alongside of. The Charlatans have won my undying love again with this new release, "Simpatico". Top blokes. My favourite fun-sized Celt is Neil Hannon. I am not sure which Divine Comedy record I like better "Liberation" or "Regeneration". I followed Verve around when they played many dates in the States. I (heart) Richard. Ahhhh. I love Rolling Stones ala late 60's. You know, when they were livin' in the California hills and doing blow with Gram. That's what I'm talking 'bout. Recording monster music in Muscle Shoals Alabama and at Chess in Chicago. Thas right. Anton from BJM is a genius. Josh Homme is going to be the coolest dad ever! I guess if I could be anybody today, it'd be him. I love QOTSA & EoDM. Spoon is an amazing band. Some people seem to be noticing. Though, they seem to be a bunch of young knobs who just discovered them, and I've been a fan since..........blah blah blah....... I like music: JAMC, Roxy Music, Duran Duran, Starsailor, Badfinger, Wire, The Gossip, The Distillers, Sareena Maneesh, Heart, ELO, Elvis Costello, MC5, Soft Boys/Robyn Hitchcock, Fugazi, The Fall, Gang of Four, The Clash, The Jam, Adam & The Ants, Cheap Trick, Gary Numan, George Jones, Bob Dylan, Sparks, Prince, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett - shit, I'm all over the place.

Movies:

Withnail & I. Gimme Shelter. Performance. The Leopard. The Swimming Pool. Anything with Alain Delon, in the early lovely days. Jesus, isn't Le Samurai an amazing flick? Could watch it weekly. I like a lot of movies. I can't get into this right now.....

Television:

Oh, I'd love to be one of those droll types that claims that they never touch the remote and "that box is collecting dust in the corner", but fuck those snobby gits. I end up watching a lot of news because I don't have cable. Luckily we have many tv series on dvd. We're on season 3 of "The Wire" right now. That McNultey, he's a stitch. Veronica Mars, 24, Rescue Me, The Office, Numbers (kudos to my old pal George Ketsios, for his portrail of a pedaphile getting beaten to death by a woman on the show last week). "Smith" and "The Nine" were apparently too expensive to keep on tv for the numbers they were getting. Which I figured would happen, as I was enjoying them both. Oh, and what is the sick facination with reality tv? Doesn't anybody think writers deserve to get paid. Terrible.

Books:

I like pretentious and often dead female writers. Like:

Ayn Rand Edna St. Vincent Millay Brontes Jane Austen (though some would say, she's quite modest).
I also enjoy some men....like:
the Amis'(Martin & Kingsley) Houellebecq Sedaris Ballard Phil K. Dick
I read a sick sick sick amount of rock biographies. It's just better than fiction, honestly....
The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones God's Own Singer: Gram Parsons Dream Brother: Jeff & Tim Buckley The Biography: Nick Drake Elliott Smith & The Big Nothing I'm With The Band (Miss Pamela is my hero!) The Creation Records Story: My Magpie Eyes Are Hungry For the Prize Wonderland Avenue: by Danny Sugarman (read it!) Exile on Mainstreet: A Season in Hell With The Rolling Stones et al, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Heroes:

Gram Parsons
