This singer’s family is from Liberia and that is were all his heritage comes from. His parents moved to the U.S. in there twenty’s to go to college and decided to stay and start a family. Growing up Delvin’s father influenced him with music from Liberia and the states, with artist such as Bob Marley, Sade, & James Brown. This made a big impact on his music. Ever since Delvin was little he use to make his brother watch his concerts and record songs on their cassette player, not knowing how much this would change his life. Now that he has grown up and taken it seriously, he wants to do music professionally and be a persistent, creative, & original entertainer, not another compared artist or one hit wonder. Not having proper equipment did not stop him from pursuing his dream, He still went out and got a 10-dollar microphone and mastered the way of recording to make his song sound as professional as possible.
After going through some things Delvin started writing more & more which made him look at life if a different perspective, and ultimately pushed him to make his first mixtape entitled "Mixed Emotions". This mixtape dealt with his feelings about the world & his life, including songs like, "Loves the Key", and “Forgive & Forget". After being so sick of going through all of this pain in his life Delvin tried to make a better out look on life and created his second mixtape entitled "New Me". That was the first time and hardest he has every pushed himself in writing and singing, which made good songs come out of it and this time around really showed how diverse his music is. You can all see that Delvin is very determined, not caring what anyone else thought of him.
This hard worker wants to make music people can relate to happy and sad for all ages. He also made his third mixtape entitled "16", which was released August 7th 07’. Delvin recorded his first 3 song demo with beats produced by Kryz Omari. “Call Meâ€, one of the songs off the demo qualified in XM Radio’s “Show Us What Ya Got†Contest in August 07, but didn’t make it to the final 5. In late September Delvin started recording his fourth mixtape entitled “Judgment Dayâ€, 4 months after his first mixtape was released. On November 1st 2007 “Judgment Day†was added on Datpiff (A Free Mixtape Provider) and was officially released November 27th 2007. In Late December of 2007 Delvin was nominated for singer of the year at the 1st annual OKC Mixtape Awards, his hard work finally paid off. In the month of February 2008 he became the number one urban artist in Oklahoma on SoundClick.
Delvin is very determined and released a reloaded edition of his 2007 mixtape “Judgment Day†on February 26th 2008, with better production and two new songs to gear people up for his 5th. His 5th mixtape will be entitled “Jack Of All Trades†and will be released online August 5th, 2008. The first single is entitled “I.C.U†and will be officially released online May 26th.
