Vu Quang Trung is working as music producer, pianist, composer, orchestrator.
He studied classical piano since the age of 7.
He completed bachelor degree of composition in Hanoi in 1994, post Graduate Diploma of Arts Management in 2003 and Master degree of Music at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney, Australia.
Vu Quang Trung was born in Hanoi to a musical family. His late father, Vu Thanh, was a composer, and his late mother, Tran Tuyet Nhung, was an opera singer.
Trung was exposed to music at a very young age.
In 1994, he commenced teaching Composition & Contemporary Piano at Hanoi College of Music & Performing Art.
In 1995, he was appointed Vice Dean of the School of Music Composition. In 1996, he became a member of the Vietnamese Composers Association.
Trung has always been interested in Jazz, and began to research this form of music in 1993. In the same year he formed Hanoi Jazz, a jazz band with Quoc Hung – drums, Vu Ha – bass, Tran Manh Tuan – saxophone.
Trung’s classical works include Symphony N01, N02, concerto for piano and orchestra, trio for woodwinds, Quartet for Strings and many preludes for piano. He is now working in music industry in Sydney as music director of EMG music in Sydney Australia.
