Terra Rossa is an ensemble that plays and creates original music which is greatly influenced by the different musical cultures of the east and the west. Most of the music is written by Yishai Ben-Yakov and the arrangements are a joint effort of the whole ensemble.The musicians live in Jerusalem and its surroundings, and the name of their ensemble is derived from the rich fertile red soil that is very common in the hills of Jerusalem – known as "Terra Rossa".Terra Rossa's music aims to create and unique and refreshing dialogue between the different Jewish traditions and cultures of the members of the ensemble and to try and find the simple truth which unites them all.
