Rectify

In the summer of the year 2000 four people, with similar interests in hard music, gathered and founded Rectify. The energetic speed of the 80’s Thrash metal and the fierceness of the 90’s Metalcore, combined with an urge to contribute to the evolution of hard music, were the main inspiration for spending many hours in the rehearsal room, playing together and shaping songs. The music and the lyrical concept became an outlet for the beauty of energy and aggression.

In 2004, with 11 songs, Rectify entered the studio to further amplify the existence of the band and put the music on the road. The debut album “Have Mercy…” was released by Garden of Exile Records in early 2005 and was followed by a release tour with Kickback and Born From Pain. From there the energy and the combination of styles were put on stage. Venues such as Baroeg, Iduna, Paradiso, and Goudvishal witnessed the fierceness that was put on the debut album. The evolution of hard music is brought in a stage concept without having a segmented view. Performances with differently styled bands, as well as with pure metal bands, seem to bring the clichés into newly shaped leather jackets.

The future of Rectify lies in -international- tours and shaping the second album, with one common goal: to bring back the headbanging and aggression into today’s hard music. Along with Garden of Exile Records and Trigger Agency, the beauty of aggression will be spread around the globe with many performances and records.

Rectify is about aggression. This aggression is not fueled by hate, nor is it fueled by some kind of positive energy. It just is aggression, evoked by itself.
