About Me

WELCOME TO SAVING CADENCE'S PAGE!

Ahhhhh I remember now…
Way back in the 6th grade when our mom signed us up for guitar
lessons. I thought to myself, “guitar? I don’t want to learn how to play
guitar!” All I knew about the damn thing was that it had strings and
sexy long haired rockers swung them around like baseball bats. But to
actually play and be one of those sexy rockers, it just didn’t make
sense to me at the time. Kevin was our instructor’s name; even
though he was a pretty radical dude the idea of ripping on a mighty
ax just seemed boring. Well now that I recall, that’s where it all began…
“A Horse With No Name,” that was what the song was called, the very
essence of what would soon expand to be a limitless supply of
creativity for the imagination. This feed would later build multiple
other simple tunes, the kinds of songs that get you right here (points
to the heart) and make your tears jerk. Trust me on this one; those are
the songs that have pure meaning behind them.
Anyways, two to three years had passed and never had I thought
twice about the six-stringed instrument, which was soon to be
recognized as my best friend. On my fifteenth birthday I received my
first electric guitar as a gift. The missing frame encouraged me to write
songs and create melodies that I hadn’t even dreamed of composing
before. It’s sad to know how it took me that long to finally realize a
beautiful piece of my life had gone astray. But it’s here now and it’s
here to stay. I know I was new to this whole “song writing” thing but
shooting for the stars opened up my mind to the mysteries of what’s
to come. By pushing limits and crossing boundaries my guitar has
inspired me to go further, beyond these lands and the seas that bind
them.
All around the same time period my brother Taylor started playing
bass and soon after took an interest in drums. He was also quite good
at writing catchy material, much like I was, just better! Right then and
there I knew that we had found our true passion; we caught a
devastating disease called music.
Music has been with us for almost four years now and as each day
passes it continues to grow. Saving Cadence first blossomed as a little
rose bud, with Blink-182 blasting out of C.D. players, and when tight
jeans were becoming the “new thing.” Yet now we have blossomed
into something much, much more… A garden, full of hope for those
who have trouble standing on their own two feet; A garden full of
happiness for the times when you just feel so damn blue. A garden full
of peace because it’s what the world needs…That’s what Saving
Cadence is all about, it’s about you guys. Because without you, what
would this garden be?
