DJ Baz started playing Drum and Bass in 2001 as resident and promoter of his own WARNER BASS nights at La Chapelle Club in his hometown Liège. The concept of the party was simple yet effective, the line-ups included the top of the Belgian DJ’s and international guest DJ’s.
He met Divine MC at a party, where they started talking of a back2back project with her on the mic and him behind the decks. And until this moment, the duo never stopped improving theirselves and working close together. The duo also had a monthly residency at Equinoxe FM from 2002 til 2006. Now they're running a brand new radio show on Warm FM called DROP IT! , on air every tuesday from 22:00 til midnight!
Their main focus however was to put Liège on the drum’n’bass map with their parties. So about a year and a few parties later, they hooked up with another known Belgian promoter System-D. Hence, VOLUME was born. Even bigger events on even bigger locations and big big names, such as EZ Rollers, Distorted Minds, Pendulum and the likes.
But they weren’t active just in their hometown, they also hooked up with the Hydra crew from Brussels. Hydra already had a good name for their quality nights in Brussels. And when these two teams joined up, they quickly grew out to one of the main drum’n’bass nights in Belgium. Attracting people from all over the country and even abroad.
In 2006 they also joined the DEDKOB crew, known for it’s long list of quality DJ’s and producers. Such as: Dconvict, GamorahSound, DJ Free, Lady Lite, Wasp, Lowdown aka Riot, Stanny Franssen, Oxidizer and more.
The combo made a name itself with their energy, their fresh selection and a great stage presence.
Forget all about the cliché's of drum'n'bass and borders between styles, these two artists are working with feeling and taste. Divine MC vocal influences include classic drum'n'bass MCs (like Hyper D), ragga vocalists and many other diverse styles like hiphop, grime and breaks. DJ Baz selection is quite versatile, switching from techstep, liquid, hardstep to clownstep.
It all depends on the vibe! DJ Baz plays up front, bouncy drum 'n' bass with big influences coming from jump up jungle.
He aims to get the crowd partying away in a positive vibe. Baz plays all styles of drum’n’bass, because "DRUM' N 'BASS IS DRUM' N' BASS!". And he loves all of it!
