My primary interest is Music. I have been deejaying for the past ten years. I spend alot of my free time listening to music and collecting vinyl. I love to cook. Other interests include Reading, Drawing and Art (mostly just doodling lately), Snowboarding (since '88), and a little bit of Skateboarding (I was never very good at it, but love it anyway). Pinball is also way up there, but's it is hard to find machines to play anymore; I'm predicting a public comeback (I finally found a Medieval Madness close by my spot).
Friends, music lovers, and just plain lovers. What else is there? Enemies? I don't want any of those. I am also happy to meet people who can enlighten and inspire (in case you don't fit into one of the previous 3 categories) .
and you, this Saturday...
This is what I am listening to lately:
Major in: Hip-Hop, Classic R&B, Soul, Funky 70's, 80's cheese, Dancehall/Reggae, Downtempo and all kinds of Electronica, Rock, Classical, and Oldies. I'm into just about every kind of music, but these are my favorites and most listened to. Actually, I am in a whole new age of discovery right now. I feel like all the musics I am currently drawn to are out of my target demographic, which makes me all the more interested. Why can't we all love this stuff? It is here for us to digest. I am certainly following the FDA's guide to a diverse diet (with respect to music). Please suggest more, this is the enlightenment I seek.
p.s. artists who request friend status: please don't just send the friend request, write to me and tell me why you think I may be interested in your music.
Comedy, Dark-comedy, Kung-fu, Anime, Drama as long as it's not drippy, Fantasy/Medievel/pre-elctricity, and Indie Flicks filcks are what I like. My favorites are the movies and films that get better every time you watch, eg: Big Lebowski, Pootie Tang, Young Frankenstein, Monty Python, etc. That's a start, watching movies is one of my favorite activities.
I think Wes Anderson is my favorite film maker right now. Panned as it was, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou has beome possibly, my favorite movie ever.
TV sucks, except for some discovery and hisory channel stuff. Editors note: Lost (teetering), Heroes and 30 Rock get a pass right now. Adult swim is still okay, too.
I like to read quite a bit. I love to read non-fiction literature that can learn me up a bit more than i am currently, but I do really enjoy reading regular, commercial fiction anytime. Really digging James Clavell's Asia series. Anything by Tolkien, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., or Michael Crichton ("Next" was good) is fine reading for me. Always open to suggestion here, feel free to recomend.
Last book read:
Camel Club, David Baldacci
Remeber "The Greatest American Hero?" He was the super-hero on TV back in the 80's with the blonde afro that couldn't fly very well. Now that's a hero; he wasn't perfect but he always got the job done. Mr T is also someone I admire in a similar fashion. Bob Ross is still the Man; R.I.P.
