About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorI am currently a student at California State University Long Beach, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in music performance with concentration on percussion. For a Master's degree I am hoping to either continue doing percussion or study conducting.
As a performer I play with the CSULB Symphony Orchestra, New Music Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, World Percussion Group (which specializes in West African and Brazilian drumming), and Steel Drum Band. Other ensembles of experience include the #10 Tin Can Band, Long Beach City College Symphony Orchestra, El Camino College Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, British Band, Varsity (Pep) Band, Percussion Ensemble, the South Bay Youth Orchestra, the Palos Verdes Regional Orchestra, the Beach Cities Symphony, the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra, the Southeast Symphony Orchestra, the Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Orchestra, and the world-famous USC Trojan Marching Band (which I played cymbals).
I am a passionate lover and admirer of Classical Music; it is my primary driving force as a striving musician. I listen to it almost exclusively, ranging from the Middle Ages to the Avant Garde. At times, however, I do listen to Jazz, Easy Listening, and World Music (especially those from Japan, India, and Bali).
Outside my concentration on music, I enjoy watching nature and history channels... anything educational and enriching my mind. I also enjoy watching sports, especially USC Trojan Football (FIGHT ON!!! BEAT THE BEARS!!!!!). Don't worry though, because I have plenty of spirit and pride for my school athletics too - GO BEACH!!!
