Over the years I've been blessed with the opportunity to work with some amazingly talented people. I began my career in music with the "Swampers" (Jimmy Johnson, Roger Hawkins and David Hood) at the now closed,"Muscle Shoals Sound Studios". Although we (the owners/Malaco Records) closed the facility on 1000 Alabama Av on January 17, 2005 the music that was created will live on forever. No need to argue the point either, I locked the door myself for the last time after the building sold in March of 05. Truly, a sad day in music history.Malaco Records under the direction of Wolf Stephenson, Tommy Couch Sr and Stewart Madison continue to produce blues and gospel from the facility in Jackson, MS.MUSCLE SHOALS music is still a thriving industry. We have a lot of budding talent and are always looking for more. Most popular and country/southern rock music was and is influnenced by the sounds of Muscle Shoals to this day.After a brief stint as part of the opening management team with Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa I decided it was time to return to music. So when the call came in from Rick Hall wanting me to come to Fame I decided to give it a shot and I'm still here.........The FAME Records label as well as Muscle Shoals Records are both housed at the Fame Studios location on Avalon Av. in Muscle Shoals.
