Guitarist Oscar Bautista was born and raised in New York City. He first picked up a guitar in his early teens, influenced by the great ‘60s and ‘70s rock acts such as the Beatles, the Stones and Led Zeppelin. Self-taught, Oscar's style developed along classic rock lines and was later influenced by the Blues, Funk, Latin, R& B and Pop music. Oscar plays Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Slide Guitar and Mandolin.
ON THE STAGE, Oscar has played with many distinguished artists, most-notably, Grammy award winners Gloria Estefan and Norah Jones.
Oscar's television appearances include: The TODAY Show (NBC), The Martha Stewart Show (NBC), and MUN DOS (Telemundo).
Currently Oscar is on tour with the national production of “Kidz Bop Live!â€, produced by Razor and Tie Records. The tour brings to life the most popular and most recognized children's audio series in the United States. Designed as an introduction to a real live rock show experience, audiences enjoy their favorite songs, sung by kids for kids on stage.

Besides being a tireless performer, Oscar’s guitar work can be heard in numerous television and radio commercials for companies such as: AOL, Johnson and Johnson, Jack in The Box, and The Sylvan Learning Center. Oscar has also recorded material for television programs on various networks: Telemundo, CBS, ABC and Nickelodeon.
Oscar’s other credits include working with American Idol’s Associate Musical Director, Michael Orland in a series of shows backing Actress and Singer Lucy Lawless (Television’s “Xena the Warrior Princessâ€) and performing with Mexican girl group “Grupo Jeans†at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall.
Oscar has also played with a long list of talented musicians including: Steven Chopek (John Mayer), Pat Dinizio (The Smithereens), Andy Hess (The Black Crowes), Will Lee (The Late Show with David Letterman & The Fab Faux), Jonathan Maron (Groove Collective), Jordan McClain (Antibalas), Genji Siraisi (Groove Collective) and Geraldo Velez (Jimi Hendrix, Chic, Spyro Gyra).
IN FILM, Oscar’s playing appears most recently in the John Woo movie Blood Brothers. Blood Brothers was a featured film at the 2007 Venice, Italy Film Festival. It was also honored at the Gala screenings of the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. Oscar worked alongside the film’s musical composer Daniel Belardinelli.
IN THE STUDIO, Oscar has recorded for producers Benji King (Scandal), Bobby Sanabria (Tito Puente) Matt Noble (Average White Band) and Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, Derek James).
Oscar has also been at work recording and performing with acclaimed New York City Pop Rock Songwriter and band Derek James & The Lovely Fools (www.myspace.com/derekjamesmusic). Derek James has opened for OK GO, Sugar Ray, Blues Traveler, KC & The Sunshine Band, Jesse McCartney, Matt White, Alexa Ray Joel and Ben Kweller. The band’s music has been featured on television programs for Lifetime and The Travel Channel.
Oscar is also working with the talented Latin R& B Funk band SOULARE. Individually, members of SOULARE have shared stages and studios with a host of rock, jazz, Latin and R&B greats, including: Maceo Parker, Bruce Springsteen, Slash, Ricky Martin, Jose Alberto El Canario, Groove Collective, Alejandro Fernandez, DLG, Frankie Negron, Tito Rojas, and La India.
Oscar plays lead guitar in the Pop Rock Cover Band The Sidetracks. The Sidetracks are one of the featured house bands in the Manhattan club Session 73 (session73.com). They can be seen performing there regularly every month. Recently, The Sidetracks were joined on stage by former 70's Teen Idol Leif Garrett.
