Carpe Diem!

About Me

Hey everyone! It's still me..the salt_peppergirl, but for whatever reason, my other MySpace page won't let me sign in, so I started a new one. I am unhappily married, but have much to be thankful to God for. I'm Mom to three absolutely wonderful sons, who are my life...ages 22, 21, and 19, mom-in-law to one (luv ya Heather!), and proud owner of a spoiled American Eskimo canine named Weaver and a beta named Emerson. I have my own handmade gift (small) business called Heart Huggers. My dream & goal in life is to become a published author, writing bios & inspiration stories. I want to meet the world and greet it with a smile! I enjoy the simple things in life like sunny days, volunteer work, picnics, arts & crafts, sending care packages to our military people, being a military mom, & spending time with friends. I hope to leave the world a better place than when I came into it. Anything else you want to know? Just ask! :)

My Interests

Writing, reading, picnics, photography, raising tropical fish, crafting with every media possible, creating works of art (in the eye of the beholder), taking walks, dieting, volunteer work, being a military mom, traveling, and a million other things. I'll try just about anything once! That's JUST about everything....lol.

I'd like to meet:

All of my MySpace friends, who I have come to love and appreciate more than you all know, Maya Angelou, C,S,N, & Y, Jason Schechterle, Kevin O'Donnell, Freddy Prinze Jr., Sam Elliot, Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hanson (Chicken Soup For the Soul fame), Sammy Davis Jr. (if he was still alive), Joanna Cassidy, Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Robert Downey Jr. Kiefer Sutherland & his dad Donald, Diana Ross, Natalie Merchant, Enya, Jimmy Page, Roger McGuinn (of The Byrds), Carlos Santana, Ray Manzarek (of The Doors), Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings, and the list goes on and on.

Music:

Now there's a Pandora's Box! I love music..it is literally my best friend (along with Chuck!) 60's and early 70's is my favorite, with C,S,N, & Y being my favorite group, and the song "Get Together" by The Youngbloods being my favorite song of all-time. To name just a few of the groups/artists I like, here goes: Led Zepplin, Peter Frampton, Herman's Hermits, Buddy Holly (but of course!), The Guess Who, Jefferson Airplane, the harder sounds of The Stone Temple Pilots, the moody sounds of..who else? The Moody Blues! I like Pink Floyd, New Colony 6, The Beatles, The Monkees, The Carpenters, Chicago, Enya, Loreena McKinnet, Elton John, Stretch Princess, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and again, the list goes on and on. You name it, I probably have it in my huge music collection. I also like soundtracks: Forrest Gump, The 60's, 1969, Saturday Night Fever, etc.

Movies:

1969, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, The Temptations, The Jacksons: An American Dream, Flags Of Our Fathers, Porky's, Revenge Of the Nerds, Blackhawk Down, The Karen Carpenter Story, Radio, Dead Poet's Society, Big Fish, etc.

Television:

TV Land rules! All of a sudden those great oldie shows (like All In the Family) make sense to me! I love Sanford & Son, Gilligan's Island, etc. Love the A&E Channel, Biography, and History channels, the Military Channel, Nick at Night, and VH1.

Books:

You know me....I love biographies, my favorite being Yes I Can (Sammy Davis, Jr., cookbooks, craft books, journals, and the book "And The Sea Will Tell" by Vince Bugliosi.

Heroes:

Jesus, my Lord & Savior, my three sons..Josh, John, & Jeff, Dad, my sister Tanya & brother-in-law Gary, Comedian Chuck Sanborn, who never lets me give up & is my best friend, Kevin O'Donnell, Alan Page, our military people, Norman Schwarzkopf, Colin Powell, & my brother Shawn. I believe EVERYONE has a hero inside of them....let your light shine!
