I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an ex-DM for Suncoast, now a National Account Manager for US Maintenance (not nearly as important as it sounds, which isn't very important to start with). Diane and I got a puppy named Hannibal last month. His birthday is 4/26/07. I'll be posting pictures shortly of him, me, and 12 all wearing Eagles jerseys...

My Interests

I really enjoy music - i get weirded out when its too quiet. No noise means... no bees. I enjoy seeing bands live - most recently I saw Kings of Leon this summer, which was excellent. Bowling (both in real life and on the Wii... although lately mostly on the Wii), The Eagles (although they take a year off my life basically every game), shooting pool, I've been known to imbibe beverages of the alcohlic variety on occasion... Movies too, uh see below I guess. Oh and the love of my life... my Xbox 360. Oh and the um, bigger love of my life, my beautiful girlfriend Diane, of course. And now also our furry Ewok baby, Hannibal Lee.

I'd like to meet:

The Flight of the Conchords, so I could ask them where they get the "awesome juice" they obviously drink every morning.George Bush - I'd like to test my theory that if you look into one of his ears, you can see straight through and out the other one. Or, more likely, that you can see Satan inside, working his body like a puppet.Albert Einstein, cause I'd be all, "Cmon buddy, toss a brother an extra theorem or something", and then bring it back to the future and bam, I'm a genius. Also, Bill Clinton. I respect his intellect, achievements, and shadiness.

Music:

Ah music, my day would be so silent and boring without you. I'm mostly a 90s-current alt/indie rock kind of guy, but I also like classic rock, some rap, and lots of misc other stuff. Weezer, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Nirvana, and the Beatles are probably my top 5. Sublime and Led Zeppelin are up there as well. More recent bands: I love the Strokes (although their last album was kind of weak), the White Stripes (last album also weak), and the Black Keys (last album... few great tracks, mostly weak, argh)... The Hives... Elliott Smith... Death Cab... Franz Ferdinand... Brand New... Fall Out Boy... Muse... Bloc Party... Rage against the Machine... Ben Folds... The Faint... Beastie Boys... NIN (last album very good!)... Oasis... Pearl Jam... Outkast... Kanye...Common... John Legend... Placebo... Queens of the Stone Age... Beck... Foo Fighters... Joy Division... Jimmy Eat World... AFI... Scissor Sisters... Secret Machines... Interpol... Saves the Day... Tenacious D... Tool... Alkaline Trio... from the past few years or so: OK Go... Arcade Fire... Say Anything... Lupe Fiasco... Rhymefest... Wolfmother... Arctic Monkeys... the Editors... the Zutons... Gnarls Barkley... The Rakes... Billy Talent... Modest Mouse... Hard-Fi... Rise Against... We Are Scientists... Hard-Fi... and the best new rock band on the Planet, the Kings of Leon. Also I suppose I should include Flight of the Conchords.

Movies:

My favorite movie? Probably the Big Lebowski. Its flawless. The rest are also amazing but just a notch below: Requiem for a Dream, Alien, The Matrix, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Shrek, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, Rushmore, the Royal Tenenbaums, the LOTR Trilogy, Groundhog Day, Gladiator, True Romance, Airplane, Pulp Fiction, Ocean's 11, Snatch, Miller's Crossing, The Fugitive, North by Northwest, Psycho, Fargo, Ghostbusters, Young Frankenstein, Star Wars Trilogy, Office Space, Old School, Animal House, Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, Kill Bill (both), 40-year old Virgin, Sin City, Idiocracy... Some great movies from last year: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (awesome movie!), V for Vendetta, Good Night & Good luck, Munich, Match Point... more recent ones: The Departed, The Descent, Pan's Labyrinth (awesome...), Letters from Iwo Jima, The Prestige, Knocked up

Television:

FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS!, Simpsons, Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Family Guy, Curb your Enthusiasm, Red Dwarf, Colbert Report, the Daily Show, Conan O'brien, The Office (original UK and US)... lately: Six Feet Under (best TV drama ever?), Entourage, Venture Brothers (best cartoon ever?), Weeds, and Dexter (which is really, really freaking good)

Books:

Fight Club, Survivor, Requiem for a Dream, the Beach, Fear and Loathing..., Grendel, Money, One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest, House of Leaves, and the whole Amber series.... those are my favorites.

Heroes:

Uh, Batman? Ben & Jerry? Dave Thomas? Everyone who ratified the 22nd Amendment, which prevents Bush from a 3rd term in office?
