Shadow Army

Shadow Army are based in and around London, Uk and play what can only really be described as heavy, melodic rock music. Our influences are way too varied to list here but the foremost influence has to be George Orwell's novel '1984' (yes its a book and not a song!) and its where our name comes from!. Even though we are all at least partly British we can't say that we are a completely 100% British band as we have a collective mixture of English, Irish, Welsh, Greek, Belgian, Italian, American and Hungarian blood in our bodies! Yep it's a pretty crazy mix going on there but we're all proud of our mixed heritage. And to all those haters that say we're trying to sound American just to be cool...KISS IT!!! After Having grown up together from the age of like 1, Alex and Patrick started playing music together at age 14 and 15 and never really stopped. Alex lived in New York from age 13 to 18 and during his time there he played in the Strokes's old band before moving back to Europe. Shadow Army formed in 2005 and after going through several drummers and bassists we found the final line up in 2007 with Jack on drums and Steve on bass. Now that we are settled we just wanna rock the fuk out and play live as much as possible, because thats where all the fun is to be had at the end of the day...although we do frickkin love recording aswell........so thats about it in a nutshell.....thanx to all the cool peeps we've met along the way...................Al, Patch, Steve, Jack

SHADOW ARMY
Setting the stage on fire with a heart-pounding metal performance was Shadow Army. The four boys from Reading proved that they were full of beautifully aggressive talent as they progressed into a heavy but melodic set. Lead singer Alex kept a smooth voice instead of falling into the ‘screaming metal’ cliché, making the 18 month old band’s act a professionally unique and a great-sounding one.
PUNKTASTIC!
In the same vein as Fightstar and Brigade, Shadow Army play a poppy brand of emo/rock which aims to have huge singalong choruses and pretty much hits the spot. 'Wake Up' is highly impressive and the rest of this demo follows in a similar manner. The production on these tracks is absolutely first rate - the guitar tone in particular is really crunchy. Not the finished article and there's still work to do, but I can see Shadow Army being picked up and doing very well for themselves!
