About Me

Hey.. I'm Paul. Just your average Minnesotan boy going to school to be a good doctor some day. Spent some time living in Toronto last year and now I'm back home with the parents before I move out to Illinois for medical school. I like hockey, travel, wine, liquor, and shopping (major emphasis on the first one.) After graduating med school, I want to work in non-profit health care.
Moving to Champaign, IL, on July 21.
Likes:
Nice clothes, Mexican food (especially mole), surprises, hockey, swing music, rainy nights, exercising, pink polos, bluetooth, nautical stuff, Natalie Portman, cosmos, Molson Canadian, blackjack, new technology, The View, Martha Stewart, Facebook, smooth landings, Italian restaurants on dates, twilight, autumn, pop-punk music, apples, cuddling, scrubs, capitalism
Dislikes:
Sleeping on the floor, lazy people, bad breath, people who smell, people who refuse to try to learn/speak English in the United States, goths, whiners, traffic, big breakfasts, breaking glassware in the lab, rotation during takeoff, loud screamo metal music, fattening food, falling asleep with my contacts in, xenophobes, Donald Trump
Some places I've been lately:
..

My Interests

aviation, youth hockey, baseball, soccer, figure skating, biochemistry, piano, shakespeare, shopping, movies, politics, travel, punk rock, singing, united states history, swimming, triathalon, jogging, driving, cuddling, cute romanian gymnasts, cycling, driving, snowboarding, skiing

I live by this shield.

I love my Wild.. I go to at least a dozen home games a year and try to make it to a couple road games as well.

The Leafs were my team up until 2000 when Minnesota got its own team. Since they never play against each other though I can cheer for both. :-)

I'd like to meet:

Someone who will value me for me and not what I look like.I'd like to meet bunches of people: Natalie Portman (although she'd probably spend more time looking at my bedroom ceiling.. hehe), Ryan Seacrest (ditto), Reese Witherspoon (ditto x100), and several others.

You?

Who I'd NOT like to meet: People who want to get in my pants. I don't have time for you.

The New and Improved 55 List

1. I was conceived on the U.S.S. Forrestal, docked on U.S. Naval Base San Diego -- on a workbench. Don't ask. The parents told me.
2. I'm multilingual -- I love learning new languages. One of the few things I actually "enjoy" studying.
3. I put up my Christmas decorations the second week in November
4. I drink water like it's going out of style. At least 140 fl oz. a day.
5. I have a chihuahua, Barbara.
6. My dad had an unsuccessful run for the Democratic nomination to Congress in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District in 2006.
7. I MET the lead singer of Maroon 5 and didn't even realize it. I was at a filming of "The Late Show With David Letterman" in New York City and I got lost and somehow ended up in a secure area.. and didn't know where the seats were. There were a bunch of people, so I asked this guy with a lanyard and card around his neck (figured he was security) where the seats were. He told me he didn't know and I asked if he worked there. He said he was performing, actually. I chit chatted with him for about a minute (he asked where I was from, what I was doing in NYC).. I thought he was some nice no-name singer. Then Letterman said Maroon 5 was playing. I was shocked. I was never a big fan before, but now it's sorta cool.
8. I am a big hockey fan.. I love to go to MN wild games at least once or twice a month.
9. I'm one of those Chipotle addicts.
10. My parents are high school sweethearts..
11. My grandma lives with us.. she's 80.
12. I got my pilot's license in the summer of 2006.
13. I went to the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York (wasn't a delegate of course)
14. I love Banana Republic, Club Monaco, and A&F.
15. I played soccer and football before starting college.
16. Graduated from high school with honors.. in retrospect, I went to the U of M. Yeah.. honors meant nothing. What a waste :-P
17. My neck is very sensitive..
18. I love to down cosmos.
19. I have a very close-knit relationship with my sister.. but she won't let me see her Myspace because she likes to hide stuff from her brother. Apparently Travis Brittle means more to her. :-P haha
20. I used to play piano at church during service. Yeah.
21. I love driving long distances.
22. My parents are probably two of the most liberal people I know...
23. ...I rebelled.
24. If you ride in the car with me, I guarantee we will make at least one U-turn and it will probably be one that is illegal.
25. I'm on my second vehicle. I just got a metallic orange 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The color is.. growing on me, I guess.
26. I have a godson, Ethan, who's 5.
27. I've lived on my own since I was 17... never had a roommate.
28. My grandma's cousin is James Dean, the actor - not the sausage maker. But yeah, you might have already known that.
29. I shower like three times a day (after waking up, after working out, before bed).
30. I used to look like the lead singer from Green Day before I grew up and got my hair cut shorter.
31. I slept on a bench at Boston's South Station one night. Ask me.
32. My dad has alopecia.
33. I somewhat enjoy getting lost while driving.
34. I'm a cuddle whore. It's better than anything.
35. I prefer Coke to Pepsi, but I like Pepsi products better.
36. I used to have a goldfish named Hercules.. he died after 13 months. I think everyone was surprised he lived that long.
37. Did I mention I'm a Chipotle addict?
38. Coffee is the reason for any success in my life.
39. Ferris wheels scare me.
40. I used to be deathly afraid of the man on the oatmeal box.
41. I love skiing.
42. I don't know how to do those damn 3D things .. you know those little illusions.
43. When I was little, like 3 or 4, I used to spike my hair up.
44. I used to be a cashier at Super Target in Rogers. My boss yelled at me for talking to the customers too much. Nice to be yelled at for being pleasant.
45. I nearly got casted for Jeopardy! College Championship in 2005. I got to go out to Cleveland for a final round of auditions.
46. I volunteer in pediatric dialysis at Fairview and I think I've learned more just from interacting with those kids than doing anything else.
47. I have a thing for Natalie Portman. I want her in ungodly ways.
48. My parents just turned 40 in late 2006.
49. I like dolphins and sheep.
50. My favorite video game of all time is Star Fox for Gamecube.
51. I'm a frat boy.. and I simultaneously played for the U of M soccer team. But I can assure you I don't go into the locker room after wrestling. ;-)
52. I taught Chemistry at the U of M for a year and a half. My students loved me primarily because the average grade I gave out was a B+. My boss, on the other hand, hated me.
53. Guys in high school used to call my mom a MILF.
