About Me

Hailing from deepest darkest depths of suburbia mark 'Be Only You' is a musical spasm of all that is great and good about British music. From the accessible and charming sounds of the Beach Boys to the dark urban sounds of Dub and 2-Tone, as a child, mark was given an acclectic choice of listening by the two people who bore his presence on this earth. This wide range of musical influences has mutated mark's current record collection to what some people may politely call "ecclectic" and what some other, more sinical people, would say is "confused". Which ever these two descriptions is true - there is no doubt that the beats mark creates now are rooted in the urban underbelly of british music culture. Imagine a dictatorship...ruled by Hip Hop...guided by a goverment consisting of Drum n Bass, House, Techno, Grime, Dub, Ska, Funk and Soul...all enforced by the street thug that is Punk then you'll get an idea of the idealogical theory behind mark BOY's sound. Whatever style of beat mark is creating, whether it be Hip Hop, Grime, Drum n Bass, House, Garage whatever...it will never be determined by fashion for a particular sound or beat...mark BOY only creates what he knows - call it insular or even ignorant - but that is mark BOY.
