Matter is the personal project of Guillermo Gutiérrez Hernández, a project in which his musical knowledge is widely developed. The essence of Matter is experimental and electroacoustic music build up from synths and classic instruments.
Bio:
Guillermo was born in Madrid in 1977. Composer, Musicologist and Sound Engineer, music is part of his life since a very early age, when he began his guitar lessons as well as music theory. He studied violoncello, composition and choir direction with Steubing Negenborn. Albeit his classical training, his eagerness for music led him towards many different styles and musical techniques, contributing with his creativity to the work of diverse authors and bands.
He studied Sound Engineering and Musicology at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, where he received training from Alfredo Aracil, Ana Vega Toscano, Jean-Claude Risset, Begoña Lolo, Peter Bosch, Joaquina Labajo, Pedro Gonzalez Casado, Carlos MartÃnez Gil, Manuel Gama, among others.
Currently, Guillermo lectures on different audio-related subjects at various educational institutions such as microFusa or Ondas Escolares & Universitarias. He has worked at LIEM with Adolfo Núñez on sound research. He has also given several courses on Musical Production and Composition. Currently, he combines his job as teacher with his work as composer and sound engineer at different recording Studios.

"Matter" es el proyecto personal de Guillermo Gutiérrez Hernández. Un proyecto donde Guillermo desarrolla de forma amplia todos sus conocimientos musicales.
La base y esencia de Matter es la música experimental y electroacústica desarrollada a partir de sintetizadores e instrumentos clásicos.
Bio:
Guillermo nace en Madrid en 1977. Compositor, musicólogo e Ingeniero de Sonido. La música forma parte de su vida desde una edad muy temprana, cuando comenzó sus estudios de guitarra a la vez que de educación musical. Estudia violoncello, composición y dirección coral junto a Steubing Negenborn. Posee una formación musical clásica de Conservatorio pero su inquietud musical le hace adentrarse en diferentes estilos y técnicas musicales, aportando su creatividad compositiva a diversos autores y bandas.
Estudia IngenierÃa de Sonido e Historia y Ciencias de la Música (MusicologÃa) en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, donde recibe formación de la mano de Alfredo Aracil, Ana Vega Toscano, Jean-Claude Risset, Begoña Lolo, Peter Bosch, Joaquina Labajo, Pedro Gonzalez Casado, Carlos MartÃnez Gil, Manuel Gama, entre otros.
Actualmente Guillermo es profesor de diversas materias en varios centros de Madrid, entre los que destaca microFusa y Ondas Escolares y Universitarias. Colaborador del LIEM junto a Adolfo Nuñez, en sÃntesis de audio. Ha impartido varios cursos de Producción Musical y composición. Compagina su labor docente con su faceta de compositor y la de Ingeniero de mezclas en diversos Estudios.
