This is done through grants and donations that are used to repair, rehab, and build homes in urban and rural communities in need. Because we are a Faith-base Non-Profit organization we will be spreading the word while completing the work that it’s God that moves us and God that provides the way. How to apply: Applicants will submit an completed application along with the necessary documentation of current income etc. to determine if they meet the qualifications to receive assistance. Prior to the approval a staff member will do a home visit and report the level of need and what work needs to be done. Once it is determined that the applicant qualifies they will be entered into the program to receive the adequate assistance. How the work gets done: Through contract bidding The Dwelling Place will select the contractor with the right bid and experience to perform the work for those in need. All work performed will be done by or under the supervision of a licensed and insured contractors. The Dwelling: The applicant most own the home that the work needs to be performed on. If the applicant does not own a home but needs to find better housing they can apply for housing in a rehabbed or newly built home. If a home is acquired by The Dwelling place and rehabbed it will then be sold to the applicant in need at cost of the purchase price and invested renovation cost. FHA loans will be available to help the candidates acquire the property. There will also be work programs available to help those who may not qualify for conventional funding to acquire the homes. Last we will be working towards building new housing developments to help provide affordable housing for those in need.
