Energy capture, manipulation and utilization. Adaptation and beneficial mutation. Growth. Reproduction. Self-Awareness ... Above all SURVIVAL ... The two gravest dangers to survival are the desire for comfort and a passive outlook. Present discomfort is a temporary problem. Knowing how much discomfort I can take helps me carry on. Comfort is not essential. Pain, Cold, Heat, Thirst, Hunger, Fatigue, Boredom and Loneliness must be fought through. I am able to make up my mind, improvise, live with myself, adapt to a situation, remain cool calm and collected, hope for the best but prepare for the worst, have patience, be prepared to meet the worst that can happen, understand and predict what other people will do, understand where my special fears and worries come from and know what to do to control them.
This is a downloadable MP3 audio file of what I consider to President Bush's finest speech (never his strongest skill). Sometimes, I wish I had just a day to hang out with him because his lack of public speaking aptitude is a teachable skill and I don't know why it has never been amended. It's worth the download and worth the listen.

I would like to meet Bill Cosby for some reason. Tony Danza, to hear him say Mona one more time ... Bjork, to find out what the hell she's doing ... Carrot Top, to pull his chair out from under him ... Terrell Owens, to explain something to him ... Dave Chappelle, cause he's funny ... Snoop Dogg, cause he's just plain cool ... Shannon Elizabeth, you figure out why ... Mark David Chapman, to spit in face ... when the time is right, Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Julius Caesar, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ben Franklin ... and last but not least, the one and only, Stevie Nicks.Other than that, as long as you are not a stupid jerk off, I would like to meet you. By stupid jerk off, I am referring to anyone who is a liberal. If you can not name 3 people in the US Senate than I'm thinking you will have stopped reading long before now. Most importantly, I would most like to meet those fence sitters out there. You are the people who usually vote, maybe quantify themselves as Democrats, but don't necessarily know where C-Span is on the dial. If you honestly are sitting around and wandering what to do with your next vote, I would very much appreciate the opportunity to educate you as to how you can step up the plate for team America.

I do not watch network television and could not tell you anything about Lost, or CSI, or 24, or any of the other bullshit they've decided to peddle these days. My TV could have 10 channels and I would be happy. I watch Fox News more than anything else and always from 8-10 at night. I watch Glenn Beck as often as possible as well. Kudos to CNN for finally putting something on the air that is a true reflection of what our media should be showing. Otherwise CNN and MSLSD can kiss my ass. Other than that, I watch ESPN, Comcast Sports Net, and NFL Network quite a bit. If there's a game on, I am happy to partake. It's like a little vacation for me and pretty much the only time I'm not worrying about the world or working. I also watch Discovery and History Channels types a lot. Including those digital versions at the top of the dial. There's always something cool on there. HBO's got til the end of The Soprano's and then it gets whacked. Not worth it. Beyond that, it's pop in a disc time or tune in to conservative talk radio streams on my computer.

I read the Bible . I read my Almanac . I read Atlases. I love books about art and architecture. I feel that some things can't be taken in .. or thru a TV screen. Not many, but art is one of them. I don't read many books. They're fucking annoying. Especially fiction. It's like why do all that work to get just a little bit of data. Ya Know? ... FYI ... whoever you are, you should read Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. I love this guys writing style. He's dry, and he seems liberal, but it's not really liberal. Anyway, he's who I read these days.***
Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, George W Bush, Tony Blair, Ben Franklin, Julius Caesar, Wyatt Earp, Tony Soprano, Ted Williams, Chuck Bednarik, Larry Bowa, anyone who has ever fought for my freedom in the US military, and my baby sister Chrissy, whose ability to adapt, fight and succeed is unmatched in my eyes.
