If you take six totally different musical personalities and run them through an old tape recorder, then you have the sound of MagnetophonBand. For almost a year the band has worked intensively to produce their own unique sound in a back alley in Copenhagen. Their main purpose has always been to get out there and create the best party ever mainly by conquering the dance floor with their uncontrollable party gen.
It all started in the spring of 2005, when guitar player, Raffe, accquired an old Studer tape deck. It became the core in the MagnetophonBand’s analog sound and gave inspiration to the band name, which simply means magnetic tape for a tape recorder in German.
MagnetophonBand mainly draws its inspiration from neo soul/acid jazz, but also from minimal techno, gospel, house, elektro, funk, jazz and reggae. And that’s why it’s pretty hard to put a definitive musical label on the band’s music.
A numerous amount of hours have been spent in the rehearsal studio to produce the best ingredients for the dance floor and now the band’s ready to start a party everywhere they have the chance. Actually they can’t wait.
And that’s why there’s guaranteed a musical tape salad, when MagnetophonBand takes on the stage and dance floor in the near future!
