About Me

Several years ago, in the late 80’s early 90’s two longtime friends, Richard Waller, Sr. and Richard Adderly decided to rejoin and pursue a lifelong dream of making jazz music together. They joined forces with the son of Richard Waller, Sr., Richard A. Waller III., and formed a jazz trio named, Richard Adderly & MusicReport. From the very beginning this group had a special chemistry with an angular but soulful approach of the vibraphone to the relentless groove of the bass locked with an energetic drummer. In 1994, the band released their first full length CD entitled, “Decisions” on RCP Records, an independent record label out of the band’s hometown, Philadelphia, PA. The band went on to do several concerts and jazz festivals through out the East Coast region. Music Report was often accompanied with a saxophone, piano and/or guitar. In 2005, Richard Adderly & MusicReport released an EP CD entitled, “Special Edition” which featured compositions from the first album as well as material they recorded over the years. In November 2007, Richard Adderly & MusicReport, currently named, “MusicReport” is back with their first full length CD in over a decade. MusicReport now features a new member of the group, Gerald “Twig” Smith on guitar. “Twig” provides MusicReport with a new sonic texture as a formable quartet.

For the people who know the sound of this band what do think about us adding a guitar as a permament texture as compared to adding a sax or piano?
